The most common forms of cancer in dermatology are non-melanoma skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma) and their early forms (actinic keratoses, Bowen’s disease). UV exposure over the course of a lifetime is considered the most important factor in their development. In addition, the patient’s skin type and age as well as certain immunosuppressive medications also play a role in the development of non-melanoma skin cancer.
We use the following procedures to treat skin cancer & precancerous lesions:
- outpatient surgical removal of skin cancer
- Photodynamic therapy or topical therapies for early forms of non-melanoma skin cancer and superficial basal cell carcinomas.
